Our votes are for Uzodimma, Orlu women declares
In a significant declaration on October 22, 2023, Orlu women congregated in great numbers at Owerre Nkworji in Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State. They made an unequivocal commitment to channel all their votes towards Governor Hope Uzodimma in the forthcoming November 11, 2023 elections. With unwavering resolve, they pledged that not a single vote would evade Governor Uzodimma's All Progressives Congress (APC) ballot box.

This gathering comprised over 5,000 women, elegantly attired, who asserted that the Governor had exhibited remarkable performance deserving of their votes. Their support extended beyond the women of Orlu zone to encompass all women and citizens of Imo State. Orlu zone, consisting of 12 local government areas, holds a pivotal role in determining the state's gubernatorial destiny.

Furthermore, these women emphasized their alignment with the Imo Charter of Equity, emphasizing that returning Governor Uzodimma to office next month would help to solidify the notion of power rotation to another zone, following his completion of a second term as per the decision of the Imo State Council of Elders.

The occasion's Chairman, former Minister of State for Education, Rt. Hon. Goodluck Opiah, expressed his gratitude to the women for their spirited rally and determination to vote resoundingly for Governor Uzodimma. He reminded them of the Governor's substantial contributions to their welfare and the welfare of the people of Imo State at large. Opiah urged the women to reciprocate this kindness by casting their votes for him, assuring them that their decision would not be in vain.

Mrs. Chioma Uzodimma, the Governor's wife, a lawyer, shared her delight regarding the rally and conveyed confidence in the women's commitment. She recounted the Governor's numerous accomplishments, particularly in healthcare, women's empowerment, youth empowerment, education, and more. Mrs. Uzodimma encouraged Orlu women to utilize their votes as a means to motivate the Governor to continue his support. She assured the women that her husband's dedication to their welfare would remain unwavering, as he has a genuine affection for their well-being.
