Members of the Rivers State National Assembly Caucus declared their support for Nyesom Wike, the FCT Minister, amidst the political crisis in Rivers State. Wike, addressing the caucus, emphasized his commitment to protecting the political structures he has built in the state since 2015, though he stated he wasn't interested in governing Rivers State. He warned against anyone attempting to disrupt these structures.
Wike also refuted allegations of demanding a 25 percent cut and urged legislators to appreciate those who contributed to their careers. The leader of the delegation, Kingsley Chinda, expressed gratitude for Wike's support and President Tinubu's appointment of Wike as FCT Minister.
The caucus praised Wike for his performance in the FCT within three months and condemned the political crisis in Rivers State. Members of the visiting caucus included three senators and 11 House of Representatives members.
